Eddie Romero (scout)

The son of former major leaguer Ed Romero, Eddie Romero has been a scout.

A lawyer by training, he worked as a prosecutor for the Florida State Attorney's office. He then followed his father's footsteps into the baseball world, joining the Boston Red Sox as Assistant in international and professional scouting in 2006. From 2012-2015, he was Boston's Director of International Scouting, then was promoted to Vice President/International Scouting in October 2015. The San Juan native helped sign Anderson Espinoza, Roldani Baldwin, Luis Alejandro Basabe, Luis Alexander Basabe, Enmanuel De Jesús, Jhonathan Díaz, Victor Diaz, Raiwinson Lameda, Roniel Raudes, Denyi Reyes and Tzu-Wei Lin.
