The 2015 South American Championship was held from February 27 to March 9 in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso.

Flag of Colombia Colombia won the event for their first South American Championship title ever. They went 4-0 in the main round, outscoring opponents 46-6. In the semifinals, they routed Flag of Peru Peru 16-1 behind 7 homers (2 apiece by Carlos Willoughby and Jonathan Lozada) and Randy Consuegra's 9 whiffs in 5 innings. In the finale, they edged host Flag of Brazil Brazil 6-4 as Javier Ortiz blanked Brazil for six innings and Cristián Mendoza saved it. Efrain Contreras homered twice and won MVP honors. Colombia won a spot in the 2015 Pan American Games.

Brazil had gone 3-1 in the round-robin, with a 37-14 run differential. They beat three-time defending champion Flag of Argentina Argentina 4-2 in the semifinals as Allan Fanhoni hit a two-run homer and Lucas Rojo a solo shot. Jean Tomé saved it for Rômulo Shindo. In the finale, Fábio Murakami homered to start a comeback from a 6-0 deficit that fell short.

Peru had been outscored 14-52 in the round-robin, going 1-3, then lost 16-1 in the semifinals to Colombia. They won their second Bronze Medal of the decade with their upset victory, 6-2, over Argentina. It was 1-0 going into the 9th when Eduardo Zurbriggen homered but Peru scored five in the 10th, thanks in part to 3 errors by Argentina. Kenny Rodriguez was the ace hurler.

Argentina was 2-2 in the round-robin with the most runs (48) while allowing only 13. After they lost to Brazil in the semifinals, they were stunned 6-2 by Peru in the Bronze Medal Game as the three-time defending champs went home without a medal.

Flag of Bolivia Bolivia was outscored 60-0 in going 0-4.
