Biographical Information[edit]
Denilson Santoyo has been on the Peruvian national team.
In the 2019 Caribbean Baseball Cup, he was 1 for 1 with a steal. [1] He saw more action in the 2024 South American Championship. He got the start on the nod against Argentina, he went seven shutout innings, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out three (his first was Nicolás Alvarado). Ken Ishihara took over with a 1-0 lead but Santoyo didn't get a win over the eventual champs, who would not lose a game, as the bullpen failed to hold on. He started their other game facing Argentina but allowed five hits to six batters and yielded four runs; Jorge Loyola relieved. He was 9th in the event in IP, between Marco Castellano and Jeferson Hernández, and tied Sebastián Vega for the most hits allowed. [2]
