Jeferson Hernández has pitched for the Ecuadorian national team.
Debuting in the 2024 South American Championship, he appeared in three of their four games. Against Chile, he relieved Keiver Cordero in the 5th with a 5-0 lead. He retired his first batter, Eduardo Reyes. He allowed singles to José Hernández, Felipe Rubio and Diego Beluzaran before striking out Anderson Castro. He walked James Sommerville to force in a run and balked in another before retiring Daniel Catalán. He struck out three of seven batters in two shutout innings to close out the game, getting the win over Emilio Germann-Cisterna. He allowed a hit, two walks and a run in 3 1/3 innings against champion Argentina, striking out five. He struck out one and allowed a sac fly versus Brazil. He finished among the tourney leaders in games pitched (tied for first with (with Miguel García, Cordero, Bautista Ramón, Kevin Riello and Pablo Ossandón), IP (10th, between Denilson Santoyo and Murilo Gouvêa) and strikeouts (tied Luis dos Santos for first).
