Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin Riello has played for the Argentinian national team.

In the 2012 U-15 Baseball World Cup, he hit .467/.500/.769 with six runs in four games and allowed three earned runs in three innings, playing catcher and pitcher. [1] He was roughed up by Australia in the 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup, surrendering four runs in a third of an inning in a loss. [2] Playing for the Godo Knights in Italy's Serie A2 in 2018, he was 4-5 with a 3.09 ERA for the champs. [3]

Riello was with Argentina for the 2023 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. His first outing in the event was against Panama, relieving Guido Monis in the third with one on, no out and a 1-0 deficit. He retired L.J. Jones but yielded a homer to Jose Ramos to make it 3-0. José Caballero singled but was out trying for two and Riello retired Rodrigo Orozco Jr. to end the inning. In the 4th, he retired Carlos Sánchez then allowed a hit to Edgar Muñoz and erred on a pick-off attempt. Allen Córdoba singled him in, then stole and scored on a hit by Rubén Tejada for a 5-0 lead. Thomas Cuenca took over at that point. His other appearance came in an elimination game with Nicaragua, closing out a 6-5 loss. Replacing Franco Pérez with two outs, two on and a 6-5 deficit, he retired Melvin Novoa to end the threat. In the 8th, went 1-2-3 against Milkar Pérez (K), Sandy Bermudez and Luis Montealto. He tied Jose Mendoza, Eric Ma and Pérez for the team lead in games pitched. [4]
