Biographical Information[edit]

Eric Ma has pitched for the Argentinian national team.

Ma was 4-1 with a 2.98 ERA as a college freshman and 8-3, 4.04 as a sophomore. He tied for second in the Northwest Conference in wins. He slumped to 1-2, 5.93 as a junior then transferred to Northern Colorado, where he was hit hard (7 R in 2/3 IP) as a senior in 2021.

He played for Argentina in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. He wound up as their third-most-used hurler in terms of innings, behind Federico Robles and Lucas Ramón. He debuted in the opener, relieving Ramón with a 7-2 lead in the 7th against Pakistan. He struck out Umair Imdad Bhatti and retired Shan Sundu and Iyad Ansari. In the 8th, he went 1-2-3 against Alex Khan, Rohan Shah and Sami Khan. Diego Echeverría relieved in the 9th. He then started in an elimination game versus Nicaragua. He allowed two runs (a double by Sandy Bermudez being the big hit) in three innings and turned the ball over to Jose Mendoza with a 2-0 deficit; Argentina rallied so he didn't get the loss but couldn't hold on.
