Federico Robles was on the Argentinian national team in the 2015 South American Championship. He beat Austria and South Africa.

In the 2016 South American Championship, he was Argentina's top hurler. In his first outing, he pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings versus Peru (2 BB). He got a crucial relief win in the semifinals against defending champion Colombia to send Argentina to the Gold Medal game. Relieving Federico Tanco in the 10th with a 9-9 tie, he fared better than the two former minor leaguers who preceded him on the hill, with a 1-2-3 10th as Argentina won. In the finale, he pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings (1 H, 1 BB) versus Brazil as the only Argentinian pitcher to have a good day; the other four hurlers allowed 10 runs in a loss as Argentina wound up with a Silver.

Robles had a 6.00 ERA in the 2018 South American Championship, highest on Argentina, pitching both of his games against defending champion Brazil. He gave up six hits and two runs in three innings while striking out two and walking none. He struck out three and allowed one hit and one run in 2 1/3 IP in the 2019 Pan American Games; when he allowed a double to Diego Uezu with one out left against Peru, it cost Argentina a combined no-hitter (he succeeded Lucas Ramón, Guido Monis and Rodrigo Bruera).

He was 7-2 with a 1.59 ERA for Crocetta Parma in the 2021 Serie A1 in Italy. He tied for 7th in the league in wins and was 10th in K (between Moises Colasante and Angel Calero). The next year, he moved to Torino and fell to 3-4, 5.06.

His brother Matías Robles joined him on Argentina's team by the 2022 South American Championship. Federico pitched two games. Against Bolivia, he closed out the win, taking over for Fernando Cancelare in the 5th inning of a mercy rule romp. He struck out Bernabe Martinez, got José Delgado on a grounder and struck out Percy Venegas. His other game, he started versus Peru in the semifinals. He outdueled Jonathan Farías, 3-2, with Diego Echeverría saving it. He tied Ken Ishihara for second in the event in IP (7 1/3, behind Marcelo Arai) and tied Juan Borras and Arai for second in K (8, 3 behind Juan Casas).

Argentina played in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, their first World Baseball Classic qualifiers. He started one game, facing New Zealand and dueling Ryan Sanders before beating Elliot Johnstone. He allowed one run (a Chayton Krauss homer) and only four hits (Max Brown, Jason Matthews, Nikau Pouaka-Grego and Krauss) in seven innings. José Mendoza saved the victory. It was Argentina's second win in the qualifier, following Ramón's in their opener against Pakistan. He was 4th in the qualifiers in innings (behind Martin Schneider, Osman Gutiérrez and Ronald Medrano), tied for 5th in K (6, even with former major leaguer Ariel Jurado, Schneider, Duke Von Schamann and Felipe Sales) and had the best ERA of anyone who allowed an earned run.
