Biographical Information[edit]

Juan Borras debuted for the Argentinian national team in the 2022 South American Championship at age 17. The only younger player in the tournament was Ecuador's Carlos Rodriguez. Borras got into one game for the Silver Medalists, facing host Peru. He had a rough first as Rider Zevallos got hit and stole second, while Borras struck out Susumu Yoza and José Salas. Jorge Pastor walked and Juan Casas doubled to tie it at 1-1, before Borras retired Jin Ishihara. He allowed only one more hit and two more walks over the next four innings, though, giving up no runs and fanning six more. Thomas Cuenca took over with a 2-1 lead but did not hold on. He tied Federico Robles and tourney MVP Marcelo Arai for 4th in the event in strikeouts in his fine debut. [1]
