Biographical Information[edit]

Thomas Cuenca has pitched for the Argentinian national team.

He allowed two runs (one earned) in four innings in the 2021 Junior Pan American Games. [1] The next year, he debuted for Argentina's senior national team in the 2022 South American Championship. He relieved Juan Borras in the 6th with a 2-1 lead over host Peru. He began by retiring Jorge Pastor and Juan Casas but walked Jin Ishihara. Daniel Liu singled and an error on the play tied the game. Joaquin Velez singled but Cuenca got out of further trouble when Giancarlo Kanashiro hit into a force. Diego Echeverría succeeded him. [2]

Also making one appearance in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he replaced Kevin Riello in the 4th with a 5-0 deficit, one on and one out against Panama. He walked Jonathan Araúz, struck out L.J. Jones, allowed a single to Jose Ramos to load the bases and retired José Caballero to escape the jam. Juan Elorza succeeded him. [3]
