Biographical Information[edit]
Giancarlo Kanashiro was a backup outfielder on the Peruvian national team in the 2013 Bolivarian Games. He won Bronze with Peru in the 2015 South American Championship. The teenager was 0 for 6 with a steal and a run and had two putouts. He hit .105/.250/.105 with four runs and two RBI in the 2016 South American Championship while playing error-free defense. He was 1 for 7 with two walks and a hit-by-pitch in the 2017 Bolivarian Games and had 8 chances without an error. He led a weak Peruvian offense in OBP. His hit came off Juan Corpas of champion Colombia in a two-hitter; Edgar Paredes had the other Peruvian hit that day. The team had only 7 hits in four games.
