Biographical Information[edit]
Chayton Krauss has played for the New Zealand national team.
Krauss was born in New Zealand and moved to the US when he was four. [1] He quickly got interested in baseball. [2] He helped Lewisberry, PA win the US division of the 2015 Little League World Series, delivering the game-ending, game-winning hit against Pearland, TX. [3] Lewisberry fell to Tokyo in the finals.
He played for New Zealand in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In their opener, he batted second and played third base against Brazil. He flew out in the first against Gabriel Barbosa and was 0 for 4 with an error entering the 9th, when he hit a double off Igor Kimura to drive in Max Brown and Jason Matthews. Their other game, he homered off Argentina's Federico Robles in the sixth to break open a scoreless game, but New Zealand did not hang on. He tied Brown for the team lead in RBI for the event, tied Nikau Pouaka-Grego for the team lead in homers, while only Pouaka-Grego had a better slugging for the islanders. [4]
