Biographical Information[edit]
Diego Uezu was the youngest member of the Peruvian national team in the 2013 Bolivarian Games. The 16-year-old did well, allowing three hits and no runs while fanning one in four innings, getting a win over Bolivia; the only other pitcher to win a game for Peru was former minor leaguer Kenny Rodriguez. He was in the 2015 South American Championship, when Peru won the Bronze Medal. He also played in the 2016 South American Championship, with 5 hits, 3 walks, 3 wild pitches and 3 runs (1 earned) in 3 2/3 IP. His three games pitched tied Alonso Tenya for the team lead and he was second to Ken Ishihara in ERA on the staff.
In the 2017 Bolivarian Games, he pitched in a 16-0 loss to Bronze Medal-winning Venezuela. Relieving Edson Piovan in the 5th, he pitched 1 2/3 IP and allowed four walks, one hit (a homer to Jhonny Medrano) and three runs; Kevin Yamamoto took over.
