Biographical Information[edit]

Milkar Pérez has played in the minors and for the Nicaraguan national team.

He was 2 for 12 with two walks,three runs and a RBI in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup. [1] He was signed by Seattle Mariners scout Tom Schafer in July 2018. [2] He hit .274/.381/.388 for the 2019 DSL Mariners with 44 RBI in 64 games while fielding .910 at the hot corner. He was two RBI shy of the Dominican Summer League top-ten. His 21-game hitting streak led M's farmhands. [3] The 2020 minor league season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic. In '21, he played for the AZL Mariners (.310/.463/.379 in 45 G) and Modesto Nuts (8 for 27, 2 2B, 4 BB). He led the Arizona Complex League in OBP. [4] In the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he hit .375/.400/.467 and fielded .900 for Nicaragua, with 7 runs in 7 games and 6 RBI and two homers. He tied for second in the event in dingers, one behind teammate Elian Miranda. [5]

Back with Modesto in 2022, he batted only .145/.325/.168 while fielding .864 at 3B; he had 16 errors to 17 runs. He was with in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In their opener, he pinch-hit for Benjamín Alegría and drew a walk from Enzo Sawayama then Iván Marín pinch-ran for him. He started at third base in their other three games. In an elimination game against Argentina, he got his first hit, off Jose Mendoza. In the 6th, down 4-3, he singled in Melvin Novoa with the tying run as Nicaragua rallied to win. They would go on to earn a spot in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, their first World Baseball Classic. He finished the event at .200/.250/.200 with one run and two RBI in four games. [6]
