Biographical Information[edit]
Benjamín Alegría has played in the minors and for the Nicaraguan national team.
Signed by the Cincinnati Reds in 2015, he hit .301/.374/.350 for the DSL Rojos as a backup middle infielder. He batted .259/.340/.313 with 44 runs in 65 games for the same club in '16, fielding .962 as their starting second baseman. He led the team in runs, just missed the top 10 for the Dominican Summer League. Despite that, it would be his last season in the Reds chain.
Playing every inning of every game for Nicaragua in the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games, he hit .167/.286/.167 and fielded .930 at SS. He had no runs in seven games but drove in three. He then made Nicaragua's team for the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier.
