Biographical Information[edit]
Anderson Castro was with the Chilean national team for the 2023 Pan American Games; he turned 20 right before the Games began. In their opener, he played center field and hit leadoff. He was thus the first batter for Chile in a Pan American Games as its was their Pan Am debut. He grounded out against Wilmer Ríos his first time up and went 0-for-2 in a mercy rule loss; the rest of the team was also hitless in a rocky debut. The next game, his third-inning single off Luis Ramos prevented a second no-hitter and became Chile's first hit in a Pan American Games. He finished the tourney 1-for-5, tying Manuel Zapata for the team lead in average. [1]
