Biographical Information[edit]

Bautista Ramón followed father Héctor Ramón and brother Lucas Ramón onto the Argentinian national team. [1]

He debuted in the 2024 South American Championship and did well. His first outing, he faced rival Brazil, relieving Kevin Riello in the 4th of a scoreless game. He retired Leonardo Munhoz and Osvaldo Carvalho, walked Gabriel Do Carmo and retired Andrew Coelho. Marco Caruso succeeded him in the 5th. He got the win over Ecuador's Orlando León with 3 2/3 shutout relief innings; he got his first K as well, Alfonso Jalil. In the title game, he took over for his brother with one out in the 6th, a 1-0 deficit against Brazil and one aboard. Facing former minor leaguer Victor Mascai, he got a double-play grounder. Riello relieved in the 7th and got the win when Argentina rallied for the title. He had the 5th-lowest ERA of the event; four other hurlers were also at 0.00 but in more IP: Luis dos Santos, his brother, Juan Borras and Murilo Gouvêa. The brothers Ramón had combined for 14 2/3 shutout innings to help their country win Gold. [2]
