Biographical Information[edit]

Pablo Ossandón has pitched in Chile and France.

Ossandón was born in Chile; he developed his game at a baseball academy in Brazil after impressing in a youth tournament. He helped Tocopilla win several national titles in Chile. [2] He got both of the wins for the Chilean national team at the 2011 South American Championship. [3] He was back with Chile for the 2012 South American Championship. [4] In the 2013 South American Championship, he helped Chile to a Bronze. [5]

For 2015, he signed with the Rouen Huskies in the French Division I, the first Chilean to play in that circuit (his girlfriend had studied in France and got a job there). [6] He was 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA for the top club and 6-1 with a 2.40 ERA in the lesser Division N1A. [7] He was 6th in Division N1A in ERA. [8] He split 2016 again between Rouen's top club (Sv, 4.26) and N1A (6-0, 1.47, 7 BB in 43 IP). He was 3rd in Division N1A in ERA and tied for 5th in wins. [9]

In the 2016 South American Championship, he lost to Peru (6 2/3 IP, 9 H, 1 BB, 5 R, 7 K) and tossed one shutout inning (0 H, 0 BB) in relief of Ian Sommerville Jr. in a near-upset 7-6 loss to Colombia. He finished the event 3rd on Chile in ERA, behind Sebastián Vega and Ian Sommerville Jr. His 7 whiffs tied Sommerville and former AAA hurler Murilo Gouvea for 5th in the tournament. [10] He moved to the La Rochelle Boucaniers for 2017 and was 9-0 with a save and a 1.38 ERA. He also hit .258/.410/.258. He led French Division II in ERA (by .06), tied for 8th in Ks (51), was second in wins and 4th in opponent average (.202). [11] He helped the team win a spot in the Division I for 2018 and remained active with them for that season.
