1954 Little League World Series
The 1954 Little League World Series was the 8th Little League World Series. It was the first LLWS to feature a future major leaguer. However, not only would one future big leaguer come out of the Series, but five would do so, a record (as of 2012). In the finale, the National team of Schenectady, NY topped the Lions Club team of Colton, CA by a 7-5 margin. Schenectady featured CF Jim Barbieri (1 for 2, R) hitting 2nd and 3B Billy Connors (1 for 3, R, RBI) batting 5th while the Lions Club had SS Ken Hubbs (2 for 4, 2 R, RBI) hitting third. The other two future major leaguers in the Series were on the Orange term: Boog Powell and Carl Taylor.
