1959 Little League World Series

The 1959 Little League World Series was the 13th Little League World Series. Seven teams played: San Juan (the first Puerto Rican team), Gadsden, AL, Auburn, CA, Oahu, HI, Hamtramck, MI, Schenectady, NY and Valleyfield, QC. Hamtramck dominated the tournament with a 0.33 ERA with star player Art Deras allowing no earned runs in 12 IP and adding a grand slam. In the finale, Hamtramck routed Auburn, 12-0, as Deras hit a homer, drove in 3 and tossed a 3-hit shutout. 2B M. Modich (3 H), SS S. Cline (3 R) and C G. Priewski (4 RBI) all helped out as well.
