The 2006 Little League World Series was the last Little League World Series without pitch count limits. The format was a round robin tournament comprised of four 4-team pods, with the top two teams in each pod advancing to an 8-team single elimination bracket.

Teams were from Surrey, BC, Willemstad, Kawaguchi, Saitama, Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Saipan, Moscow, Dhahran, Barquisimeto, Lara, Phoenix, AZ, Columbus, GA, Lemont, IL, Lake Charles, LA, Columbia, MS, Portsmouth, NH, Staten Island, NY and Beaverton, OR. Derek Keller and Devon DeJardin of Beaverton combined on a no-hitter against Lemont in the semifinals, while Ryoya Sato of Japan no-hit Russia. In the finale, Kyle Carter of Columbus outdueled Go Matsumota of Kawaguchi, 2-1. In the top of the third, Matsumota singled in Seigo Yada, but Georgia came back in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer by Cody Walker. Carter was the first pitcher to win four games in one Series. It was the first repeat win for the US since 1992-1993.

Scott Kingery was a member of the Phoenix team and Josh Lester was with the Columbus team.
