In the finale, Lakewood beat Tampa 4-3. Tampa's R. Crum hit a two-run homer in the first, but that was the only hit allowed by Ro. Del Conte. One major leaguer appeared in the Series, Vance Lovelace of Tampa. Lovelace pitched the entire finale for Tampa, allowing five walks, six hits and four runs (three earned) in five innings while striking out seven. He was 0 for 2 at the plate.
