1981 Pacific Coast League season

The 1981 Pacific Coast League season was the 79th season in the league's history. It ended with the Albuquerque Dukes winning their second straight league title. The Dukes posted the highest winning percentage in the PCL since the 1934 Los Angeles Angels went 137-50. As the team won both halves of the Southern Division, they received a bye into the championship series. Amazingly, Albuquerque did not have a single player on the postseason All-Star team despite having Triple Crown winner Mike Marshall, .346 batter Jack Perconte at 2B, a leadoff man (Rudy Law) who hit .335 with 56 steals and slugger Candy Maldonado (.335, 40 2B, 21 HR, 96 R, 104 RBI) on offense and the league leaders in wins (Ted Power) and saves (Alejandro Peña).

This was the first season for the Edmonton Trappers.
