Season Highlights[edit]
Two no-hitters were thrown in the PCL in 1938. Joe Berry of Los Angeles no-hit the Oakland Oaks in a 7-inning game on July 10 at Oaks Park, and on August 30, Dick Ward no-hit Los Angeles for 12 innings at Lane Field in San Diego before surrendering a hit with one out in the 13th. Ward went on to finish the 16-inning 1-0 victory.
