1905 Pacific Coast League season
When looking at the final standings, the 1905 Pacific Coast League season looks a lot closer than it was, with Los Angeles edging out San Francisco by a half game overall. But because the season was split into two halves, San Francisco, not having won either half, didn't figure into the playoff picture. That came down to Los Angeles, the winner of second half, and Tacoma, the winner of the first half, with Los Angeles winning the championship.
Among the highlights of the season were an unassisted triple play by Larry Schlafly of Portland against Seattle on June 21st, and a record 19-strikeout game by Charlie Shields of Seattle versus Portland on July 8th.
No-hitters were thrown by Charley Hall of Seattle against Oakland on April 5th, Jimmy Whelan of San Francisco against Seattle on July 16th, and Bobby Keefe of Tacoma against Oakland on November 18th.
