Biographical Information

Dick Ward pitched in a total of 4 games in the National League in 1934 with the Chicago Cubs and 1935 with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ward pitched for four different Pacific Coast League teams across eight years from 1932 to 1939, winning 25 games with the 1933 Los Angeles Angels and 18 games with the 1937 San Diego Padres. On August 30, 1938, Ward pitched 12 no-hit innings for the Padres against the Angels before surrendering a hit with one out in the 13th. He went on to complete the 16-inning 1-0 victory.

In 1939, at the age of 30, Ward pitched 23 innings for the Padres and Angels before calling it a career.
