Biographical Information[edit]
Rich Barnes had one win and one save in his major league career. The save came August 3, 1982, as a member of the Chicago White Sox. He pitched the last 3 innings of a 14-3 win over the New York Yankees, giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 1; Richard Dotson was the winner. His only win came September 1, 1983, as a member of the Cleveland Indians. He pitched 6 1/3 innings in relief of Rick Sutcliffe, giving up 6 hits, an earned run, walking 5 and striking out 1. He pitched into the 9th, when Bud Anderson was brought on to get the save; the Indians won 8-6. Rich does not appear on his only Major League baseball card, #608 in the 1984 Donruss set; instead, the picture featured on the card is mistakenly that of Neal Heaton.
