Biographical Information[edit]

Neal Heaton was signed as a 2nd round pick in the 1981 amateur draft by the Cleveland Indians and scout Leon Hamilton. Out of high school, he was the top pick of the January 1979 amateur draft, by the New York Mets, but did not sign. He pitched twelve years in the majors, winning in double figures for three different teams. He was an All-Star in 1990, representing the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He was at the University of Miami at the same time as Tony Brewer.

He currently lives in East Patchogue, Long Island.
