Leon Hamilton was a scout for the Brooklyn Dodgers/Los Angeles Dodgers (1951-1968), San Diego Padres (1970-1972) and Cleveland Indians (1973-1985). He also managed the Thomasville Dodgers from July 19 to 26 in 1957, in between two other skippers. Hamilton's son Des Hamilton also was a scout. Leon Hamilton signed dozens of major leaguers, including Neal Heaton.
