Alabama-Florida League

From BR Bullpen

The first Alabama-Florida League was founded in 1936. In 1940 the league changed its name to the Alabama State League. In 1951, the Alabama State League switched its name back to the Alabama-Florida League. The AFL survived 12 more years before folding, one of the few leagues to die off in the 1960s after surviving the 1950s, a horrible decade for minor league baseball. The Alabama-Florida League was a class D league.
