Biographical Information[edit]
Paul O'Dea hit well for the 1944 Cleveland Indians, with a line of .318/.401/.370, but less well in 1945. He also pitched well in 1944, with a 2.08 ERA in 3 games, but not as well in 1945.
He and Bill Bonness, both out of Case Western Reserve University (at the time, Case and Western Reserve were separate), both made their major league debuts in 1944 with the Indians.
He managed nine seasons in the minors, and scouted for the Cleveland Indians in 1952-1958 and 1960-1978.
The only other player (through 2019) with the last name O'Dea is Ken O'Dea, who was playing in the National League in when Paul was in the American League.
