2012 Asian Championship
The 2012 Asian Championship was the 26th Asian Championship. Held in 2012 in Taitung City, it included six teams. The top four teams from the 2009 Asian Championship qualified automatically ( Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei and People's Republic of China), with Pakistan and Philippines winning qualifiers to join them.

November 28[edit]
- South Korea 6, Philippines 3. Keun-young Yoon got the win over Jon-Jon Robles, as Korea is surprisingly tied at 3 until they break it open in the 6th. The game was delayed at one point due to rain.
- People's Republic of China 7, Pakistan 0. Tao Bu and China get an easy win over Muhammad Usman and Pakistan. Wei Wang has the game-winning RBI.
- Japan 2, Chinese Taipei 1. Junichi Katayama gets the win while Yao-Lin Wang is handed the loss in a close matchup of the hosts and Asia's top power. Akira Matsumoto drives in the winner.
November 29[edit]
- South Korea 4, People's Republic of China 0. In-wook Jeong and three relievers combined on a two-hit shutout, while Yu Liu and his teammates do a relatively good job at containing Korea's hitters.
- Japan 13, Pakistan 0. Takumi Horikoshi goes 3 for 4, while Daichi Osera, Hayato Arakaki and Ryo Akiyoshi combine on a one-hitter (Muhammad Usman Azam getting the lone hit).
- Chinese Taipei 12, Philippines 1. Ping-Chieh Chen goes 4 for 5 to lead Taiwan in a romp of the Philippines, beating Charlie Labrador.
November 30[edit]
- South Korea 5, Pakistan 0. Pakistan got one-hit for the second straight game, while Muhammad Usman was handed a second loss. The game ended after five innings due to rain.
- Japan 1, Philippines 0. Motoshi Oshiro, Masamitsu Hamano and Ryo Akiyoshi combine on a 2-hitter, while rain ends the game in the 7th. Joseph Orillana takes a loss by allowing the only run. Yuichi Tabata goes 2 for 3.
- Chinese Taipei vs. People's Republic of China rained out
December 1[edit]
- Chinese Taipei 15, Pakistan 0. Yu-Ching Lin, Hung-Cheng Lai and Ta-Yuan Kuan combine on a 7-inning, 10-strikeout mercy rule perfect game as Pakistan's streak of one-hitters ends with a no-no. Cheng-Wei Chang goes 3 for 5.
- People's Republic of China 16, Philippines 0. The Philippines might have given Japan a game, but they were no match for China, as they lose in a blow-out. Jon-Jon Robles takes the defeat, while Vladimir Eguia gives up 7 runs in one inning. Zhenhong Lu goes 3 for 5, while Qingyuan Meng allows one hit in six shutout innings for the win.
- Japan 4, South Korea 0. Kentaro Yoshinaga, Ryo Akiyoshi and Junichi Katayama team up on a 11-strikeout, 2-hit gem as the three losing squads combine for a total of four hits today.
December 2[edit]
- Japan 10, People's Republic of China 1. Toshiyuki Hayashi goes deep and five Japanese pitchers contain China.
- Philippines 2, Pakistan 0. Pakistan plays its best game, but still falls short, as Charlie Labrador fans 10 in a 5-hitter to beat Muhammad Usman (2 UER in 7 IP).
- Chinese Taipei 7, South Korea 0. 2009 Baseball World Cup star Ji-woong Yoon is hammered for 7 runs in 4 1/3 IP while Jen-Ho Tseng and 3 relief pitchers shut out Korea on four hits.
December 3[edit]
- Chinese Taipei 3, People's Republic of China 1. In a matchup of political antagonists, the hosts edge China to lock up a Silver Medal. Yao-Lin Wang fans 5 in 3 2/3 hitless, scoreless relief innings for the win, while Ssu-Chi Chou goes 2 for 4 with a double. Tao Bu provides a solid start, allowing one run in five in a no-decision, while Kun Chen takes the loss in relief.
