Biographical Information[edit]
Akira Matsumoto was on the Japanese national team that won the 2012 Asian Championship and 2013 East Asian Games. [1] In the 2014 Asian Games, he hit .429/.467/.571 with six RBI in four games as Japan's left fielder when they won Bronze. He had 3 hits in the Bronze Medal Game win over China. He tied Toshiyuki Hayashi, Toshihiko Kuramoto and Sung-bum Na for second in the event in RBI, one behind future major leaguer Jung-ho Kang. [2]
