2013 East Asian Games

The 2013 East Asian Games were the sixth East Asian Games, but the first to feature baseball. They were held in Tianjin, China.

Host  People's Republic of China finished 4-2 in the round-robin and outscored opponents 54-19 but lost the Bronze Medal game, 4-0, to Taiwan, who they had topped in the round-robin. Xiaolei Du, Yi Lu, Wei Tang and Haoyue Zhang were on the team.

 Guam was 2-4, with 39 runs scored and 63 allowed, to finish 5th.

 Hong Kong placed 6th at 1-5, outscored 75-24. The team included Ka-Ho Sam Leung, Chung-Hei Leung, Ho-Lam Andy Lo, Wo-Sau Pun and Tsun-Wai Yung.

 Japan won the gold, going 5-1 with 76 runs to 14 allowed in the round-robin, their lone loss coming to Taiwan. They then beat South Korea 4-2 in the Gold Medal game. The team included Ryo Akiyoshi, Ayumu Ishikawa, Ryota Ishioka, Junichi Katayama, Akira Matsumoto, Shigeki Nakano, Yuichi Tabata, Kosuke Tanaka, Kimio Watanabe and Hotaka Yamakawa.

 Mongolia lost all six games, by a total margin of 150-1.

 South Korea went 5-1 in the round-robin, with a 82-12 run differential, but lost the Gold Medal game to Japan. Young-pyo Ko, Ja-wook Koo and Seung-kyu Lee were with them.

 Chinese Taipei was 4-2 in the round-robin, with 66 runs scored and only 9 allowed, with an odd combo of beating #1 Japan and losing to #4 China. They then beat China in the Bronze Medal game. Wei-Chih Chen, Chi-Hung Hsu, Sheng-Hsiung Huang, Chia-Wei Huang, Chun-Lin Kuo, Chun-Kai Liao, Po-Jung Wang and Tsung-Hao Wang played for Taiwan.
