1989 Asian Championship
The 1989 Asian Championship was the 15th Asian Championship. It was held from September 16 through September 23, 1989 in Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
Chinese Taipei, South Korea and Japan all tied for first place. Japan included Hideo Nomo. Taiwan included Jung-Tang Kang. Taiwan's Chung-Yi Huang was honored as the best defensive player of the tournament. Korea's Jong-beom Lee took home MVP honors.
People's Republic of China was 4th.
Guam finished fifth. John Hattig Sr. led the event with two home runs.
Philippines placed sixth.
India was last.
