1959 Asian Championship
The 1959 Asian Championship was the third Asian Championship. It was held at Meiji Jingu Stadium from June 7 through June 14, 1959.
Japan, the hosts, won Gold for the second time, becoming the first team to win multiple Asian Championships. Yoshimi Moritaki was part of their roster.
South Korea had its best finish to that point with a Silver Medal. Ki-yeong Sung was on the team.
Chinese Taipei got its first Bronze, having taken Silver the previous time out. Their team included Run-Po Chen, Tai-Shan Hong and Quan-Rong Gao.
Philippines was fourth for the second consecutive Championship.
