Biographical Information[edit]
Chuan-Jung Kao was a pitcher for the Taiwanese national team in the 1954 Asian Championship, the first Asian Championship. He won Silver with them in the 1955 Asian Championship, Bronze in the 1959 Asian Championship and 1962 Asian Championship and one more Bronze in the 1963 Asian Championship. He coached for Taiwan in the 1972 Amateur World Series, their first Amateur World Series. He coached for them when they won Bronze in the 1973 Asian Championship. He then became an umpire, working the 1983 Asian Championship, 1987 Asian Championship (named best umpire), 1989 Asian Championship and 1991 Asian Championship. He was inducted into the Taiwan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.
