1995 Asian Championship
The 1995 Asian Championship was held from September 17 through September 23, 1995 in Japan. It was a qualifier for the 1996 Olympics, with the top two finishers advancing.
Japan won Gold. Toshihisa Nishi led in home runs, while Masanori Sugiura was named the top right-handed pitcher.
South Korea won Silver. Byung-kyu Lee led the tourney in average and steals while Myong-ju Cha was named the top left-handed pitcher. Other players included Sung-min Cho, Dong-hwan Moon, Jae-hong Park, Min-han Son, Ki-moon Choi and Kyung-hwan Cho.
Chinese Taipei took the Bronze. They were managed by Sheng-Ming Hsu. The roster included Chun-Chang Yeh, Ming-Chieh Hsu, Sheng-Chieh Hsu, Kai-Fa Chen, Kan-Lin Huang, Hung-Yuan Lin and Wen-Yu Wu.
People's Republic of China placed fourth. The club included Zhanpeng Wang.
Philippines finished fifth.
Thailand took up the rear.
