Jung-Tang Kang has been a longtime coach for the Taiwan national team.
Kang was an outfielder during his playing days, when baseball in Taiwan was played only in amateur settings. He was with the Taiwan national team for the 1987 Intercontinental Cup, 1989 Intercontinental Cup and 1989 Asian Championship.
Kang coached at Chinese Cultural University after his playing days ended and also was an official with the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association. He has coached for Taiwan's national teams in the 1997 Asian Championship, 2000 Haarlem Baseball Week, 2001 Asian Championship, 2001 World Port Tournament, 2001 Baseball World Cup, 2002 World University Championship, 2004 World University Championship (head coach), 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2005 Asian Championship, 2006 World University Championship, 2006 Intercontinental Cup, 2006 Asian Games, 2007 Baseball World Cup, 2007 Asian Championship, 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week, 2008 World University Championship (head coach) and 2008 Olympics.
