Biographical Information[edit]
Takumi Horikoshi played for Nippon Steel Kashima in the industrial leagues after college. He made the Japanese national team that won the 2012 Asian Championship and 2013 East Asian Games. In the 2019 Asian Championship, he hit .400/.400/.700 with five RBI and three runs in five games for Japan. In the Gold Medal Game, he pinch-hit for Jin Minakawa in the 9th inning, but was retired by Chih-Jung Liu in a 5-4 loss to Taiwan.
