Biographical Information[edit]
Kentaro Yoshinaga pitched for the Japanese national team while still a teenager.
Yoshinaga was the All-Star right-hander in the 2011 Asian Junior Championship, posting a 0.00 ERA. He struck out 13 in a one-hitter over South Korea. In the World University Championship the next year, he won MVP honors for Waseda. In the 2012 Asian Championship, he tossed five shutout innings, 2/3 of an inning to save a win for Junichi Katayama over Taiwan and 4 1/3 IP (4 K, 2 H, BB) in a start against South Korea; Ryo Akiyoshi and Katayama finished off a combined two-hitter, Akiyoshi getting the win.
