2007 Hall of Fame Election
The Hall of Fame Election results were announced on January 9, 2007.
409 of 545 votes were needed for election. Players who received less than 28 votes would not be on the 2008 ballot. Steve Garvey was also dropped from the ballot after failing to be elected in his 15th try.

Veterans Committee[edit]
After a screening committee narrowed down lists of 200 players and 60 executives, managers and umpires down to 25 players and 15 others the ballots were sent out to the new voters. Two players were later add to the ballot to raise its total to 27. Both ballots still needed 75% approval to be elected. 82 ballots were cast for players and 71 were cast for the composite ballot. No one would be elected from either ballot.
