2011 AAA All-Star Game
The 2011 AAA All-Star Game was played on July 13, 2011 in Salt Lake City, UT. The event was hosted by the Salt Lake Bees the AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels.
The Pacific Coast League served as the home team and were managed by Albuquerque Isotopes manager Lorenzo Bundy. His coaches were Tommy Gregg of the Omaha Storm Chasers and Bees manager Keith Johnson. The International League was managed by Mike Sarbaugh of the Columbus Clippers with Rich Dotson of the Charlotte Knights and Dean Treanor of the Indianapolis Indians as his coaches. The game was broadcast on the MLB Network with Chris Rose and Kevin Millar calling the game.
The International League picked up an early lead, scoring 3 runs in the 2nd inning. Russ Canzler hit a three run homer of starter Bradley Mills. The IL pitchers lead by starter Zach McAllister would hold the PCL to only 3 hits and throw the first shut out in five years. McAllister got the win and Mills took the loss.
The "Top Stars" awards were given to the team MVP's from each league. Canzler won for his home run for the International League and David Cooper won for the PCL going 1-1.
