2013 AAA All-Star Game

The 2013 AAA All-Star Game was played on July 17, 2013 in Reno, NV. The event was hosted by the Reno Aces, the AAA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Pacific Coast League served as the home team. The PCL All-Stars were managed by Brett Butler of the hometown Aces. His assistants were Damon Minor of the New Orleans Zephyrs and Pat Rice of the Fresno Grizzlies. The International League team was managed by Dave Miley of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Joel Skinner and Brandon Moore, both of the Charlotte Knights, served as his coaches. The game was broadcast on the MLB Network with Paul Severino, Sam Ryan, Darryl Hamilton and Jim Callis calling the game.

Billy Hamilton led off the game for the IL with a single and quickly stole second base. He was then singled home by Chris Colabello. The PCL followed up with two runs of their own in the first with an RBI single by Brett Pill and a sacrifice fly from Brock Peterson. But in the top of the 2nd Tony Sanchez connected for a three run home run putting the IL up 4-2. The PCL picked up another run in the 4th but could not muster a comeback as the International League picked up the 4-3 win. Greg Reynolds of the Louisville Bats got the win., the loss was given to Jarred Cosart of the Oklahoma City RedHawks and the save to Preston Guilmet of the Columbus Clippers.

The Top Stars Awards were given to the game MVP from each team. The International League award went to Tony Sanchez of the Indianapolis Indians who went 1-3 with his 3 run home run.. Michael Wacha of the Memphis Redbirds won the award for the PCL pitching 1 and 2/3 innings of perfect baseball.
