2009 Futures Game
The 2009 Futures Game was played July 12 at Busch Stadium, the site of the 2009 All-Star Game.
The World team beat the USA team, 7-5. A four hour rain delay shortened the contest and greatly thinned the official attendance of 36, 311. The World team trailed 5-3 going into the seventh and final inning, but they staged a four-run rally keyed by Rene Tosoni's pinch-hit, RBI double. The win broke a 5-5 tie in the overall series history.
