High School Baseball[edit]

The National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament, held in the spring, was canceled due to wartime damage to Koshien Stadium.

The 28th National High School Baseball Championship featured a total of 745 schools competing for 19 spots The finals at Koshien. In the championship game Naniwa Shogyo High School (Osaka) defeated Kyoto Second High School (Kyoto) by a score of 2 - 0.
