Kinki Great Ring
When baseball returned to Japan after World War II, the former Nankai and Kinki Nihon club was known as the Kinki Great Ring. The club was still owned by the merged Kinki Nippon Railroad. They won a pennant in 1946 under player-manager-MVP Kazuto Tsuruoka but in 1948 changed their name to the Nankai Hawks, a title they would keep for the next four decades.
