Kinki Nihon
On June 1, 1944, Nankai changed their name to Kinki Nihon due to a war-time ownership merger. The club was in last place (11-23-1) when the Japanese Professional Baseball League season ended due to World War II. After the war the team became known as the Kinki Great Ring.
