Senators

The Senators name was revived in the Japan Baseball League after World War II by Saburo Yokozawa, the former Tokyo Senators manager. Koichi Saionji, son-in-law of former prime minister Kinmochi Saionji, was the team's nominal owner, with a moneylender from Ginza as the actual owner. The new team which went 47-58-0 in 1946 and placed fifth. Prior to the next season they changed their name to the Tokyu Flyers after being bought by the Tokyu Electric Railway; the club exists today as the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
