1903 Pacific Coast League season

The Pacific Coast League started in 1903 as an independent league. The season started in late March and ran through the end of November, with teams playing between 198 and 215 games. It was a runaway for the Los Angeles Looloos, the only team to finish with an above 0.500 record. Pop Dillon of Los Angeles won the batting title at .364, playing in 190 of his teams 211 games. Harry Lumley of the Seattle Siwashes was the only hitter with a higher average, at .383, but he only played in 109 of Seattle's 198 games. The league featured three 30-game winners in Doc Newton, Jim Hughes and Rusty Hall.

The only no-hitter was thrown by Doc Newton of Los Angeles against Oakland on November 8th.
