This former South Atlantic League city's name includes the word green – but the Greenville Drive team colors don't. MLB's 2021 Minor League downsizing drove the Drive up a level. The former Capital City Bombers moved from Columbia, SC, into the new downtown Greenville, SC, ballpark in 2006, after playing 2005 in Greenville Municipal Stadium as the Greenville Bombers. The dilapidated state of the old park had cost the city its status in Double-A ball after two decades in the Southern League. The Atlanta Braves had tried unsuccessfully for years to get a new or at a least renovated facility before they moved their owned-and-operated Double-A club to Mississippi. The net effect was a loss of two minor league levels, although the 2021 minor league reorganization gave one of those back by moving the Drive from Low-A to the High-A East. In a second silver lining, Fluor Field at the West End is widely credited with revitalizing downtown Greenville - something Municipal Stadium, being neither downtown nor much of a candidate for renovation, was never going to do. The Drive play Copa de la Diversion Hispanic engagement campaign games as Ranas de Rio (the River Frogs).
